Meet your coach

Johnna lost 160 pounds over three years, then spent the next three years as a working trainer — up to 45 sessions a week with real clients. She's a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Nutrition Coach. Lived experience gave her the empathy. Years of practice gave her the competence. You get both.

In person

“Working with Johnna has been one of the best investments I’ve made in my health in my mid 40s. I came in needing guidance on how to incorporate strength training into my life. I was unsure about using machines and how to safely build strength…”

Anne, 44

In person

“I have had such a great experience with Johnna! She worked with me at my level while also pushing me towards greater improvement in a way that has helped me stick with my health goals better than I have been able to in a very long time…”

Becca, 29

In person

“At 65 I had hip pain off and on. I decided to start working with a trainer to get smarter about how I move. Because of our schedules, I was assigned to Johnna, and it was the best thing that ever happened…”

Common questions

The things people ask before they ask anything else.

Then you're in the majority, and you're in the right place. Starting over isn't evidence that something is wrong with you — it's usually evidence that the plan had no room in it for a bad week. I build around your real life, and when it falls apart we adjust it instead of restarting it. You don't have to arrive with a clean streak.

No. Most people I work with are beginners or restarting after a long time away. I'll teach you the movements, and there's no fitness test on day one.

That's the starting point, not a disqualification. We start where you are today and build from there — whether "today" is a walk around the block or a full session.

Yes. The brand speaks to women because that's who I relate to most, but everyone is welcome and I've trained a wide range of clients.

Energy and sleep usually move first, then strength, then the things you can see. I'm not going to give you a number and a date — the people who last are the ones who stopped needing one.

Tell me in the intake form and we'll build around it. Where something needs medical clearance, get it first — I'd rather work with your doctor than around them.
