Real people. Real consistency.

Not a wall of before-and-afters. What actually changed for the people who kept going.
Some of these are about pounds. Most of them aren't. The dread that went away, the six months someone strung together, the guilt that stopped showing up at dinner — those are the things that predict whether a person is still training a year from now.
In their words

The people who kept going.

Real words from clients who trained with Johnna one-on-one.

“I have had such a great experience with Johnna! She worked with me at my level while also pushing me towards greater improvement in a way that has helped me stick with my health goals better than I have been able to in a very long time. I can feel how much stronger I am than when I began, and my chronic back pain has even improved! She is adaptable, body positive, motivating, and very knowledgeable. In sharing her own health journey, I felt like she understood where I was coming from and it helped me feel comfortable confronting my own health struggles. I look forward to working with Johnna every week!”

“At 65 I had hip pain off and on. I decided to start working with a trainer to get smarter about how I move. Because of our schedules, I was assigned to Johnna, and it was the best thing that ever happened. After months of getting stronger, I finally went for an x-ray and found I needed a new hip. Because I was strong before the surgery, my doctor said my recovery was quite simple compared to others. With my new hip, we started getting back in shape and unfortunately a nagging injury from high school led me to knee surgery. Again, Johnna helped me get strong before surgery and my recovery was almost amazing. We’re working again and hopefully getting in shape for Tennis. I’m 67 now and I haven’t moved this well in a dozen years. I don’t think I’d be where I am if it weren’t for Johnna and her cheerleader-like encouragement.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Johnna as a personal training client. I have some previous injuries and she has been beyond patient and supportive. She always listened to me and empowered me to try new things. I had never been a weights girly and now I’m practicing building muscle and improving my health. I’m super grateful for her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their fitness.”

“When I started personal training with Johnna, I had no idea what to expect. I just knew I wanted a health and wellness education, and to heal my relationship with my body. I hoped for a personal trainer that would make fitness fun and accessible, and I’m so glad I got just that! As someone who previously disliked exercise, I now genuinely look forward to my personal training sessions. Johnna is incredibly supportive, and cares about her clients’ well-being beyond the business relationship. Not only am I stronger physically, but I have also gained self-confidence and have made significant lifestyle changes as a result of my personal training. This recovering couch potato is so grateful for a personal trainer that cheerleads every accomplishment, and encourages me to think about goals beyond a specific weight or size!”

“Working with Johnna has been one of the best investments I’ve made in my health in my mid 40s. I came in needing guidance on how to incorporate strength training into my life. I was unsure about using machines and how to safely build strength, and now I feel confident, capable, and rather excited about my workouts. She’s taught me proper form, how to structure strength training, and how to push myself without overdoing it. I’m stronger, more consistent, and finally feel like I have a routine that supports my long term health. I’m grateful for her patience, knowledge, humor and encouragement.”

What I won't show you

No dramatic before-and-afters used as trophies. No twelve-week transformations. No results that only happened because someone stopped eating.

Progress photos are here when a client asks for hers to be shown and is proud of it. Never as the headline, and never as the reason to buy. Every quote on this page is real, unedited beyond length, and attributed to the format it came from.
What's typical

The honest expectation.

Results vary, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Here's roughly how it tends to go.

01

First few weeks

Energy and sleep usually shift before anything visible does. This is the part most plans never get people to.

02

A few months

Strength, and the small things — stairs, groceries, keeping up. Clothes start fitting differently before the scale is interesting.

03

A year

The habits stop requiring a decision. That's the result the whole method is aimed at.
