This time when I started my journey, I had the upper hand.
I was already eating vegetables with every meal, and I was already walking almost every day. So I proved to myself that I was able to stick with a routine and put the work in. I knew that I was one of the hardest working people I knew, so why couldn’t I work hard for this?
I could. And I could do it in a way that made me fall in love with the process. I could treat myself better, I could love myself, AND I could lose weight at the same time.
To this day, I still believe that that is single-handedly the reason why I was able to stick with my weight loss this time.
I didn’t punish myself if I over ate one day. I didn’t self-sabotage if I fell off the wagon. I scheduled time into my day, every single day, to move my body with intention. Even if I didn’t feel like lifting weights, or whatever my routine said I should be doing that day, I still moved my body somehow. I was intentional with what I ate, how I spoke to myself internally, and who I spent my energy with.
And this all mattered. This all mattered because this truly is a journey. This is so much more than losing weight. This is about falling in love with the process of building yourself up to be the best version that you can possibly be.
